Armel Says SEA Might Be the Toughest Region This DPC Tour

The Southeast Asia (SEA) Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22 Tour 3: Division 1 is so far proving to be an exciting region to keep an eye on with most teams exhibiting a high level of competitiveness. When asked about the team who could offer Fnatic the toughest competitio in SEA Division 1, after the team’s 2-1 win over RSG, midlaner Armel Paul "Armel" Tabios went on to describe how competitive the region is overall. As Armel noted, no one team stands out currently in SEA, and he cited a couple of recent upsets from underdog teams in making his impression that SEA Division 1 could be the "hardest" competition when it comes to Tour 3.

Armel feels that it is hard to predict the strongest team in SEA in Tour 3

After defeating RSG, Armel, who attended the post-match winner's interview, was asked who is the biggest comeptition for Fnatic in Tour 3. Unable to name a team out of Fnatic’s remaining five opponents, Armel said that no one can be considered a favorite in this season due to the fierce competition in the region.

“I think it’s actually hard to predict in a way as we just saw BOOM lose to Talon and RSG won against T1. It’s very hard to predict this season. This might be the hardest DPC in the third DPC (Tour), this might be the hardest. So, it’s kinda hard. Everything is just random still. No one is really the favorite.”

So far, Fnatic's two series against Team SMG and RSG have been fiercely contested, with both series going to three games. This has, in fact, been a common occurrence in SEA Division 1, with eight of the ten series played so far going the entire distance.

It is noteworthy that the two promoted teams - Talon Esports and RSG - are both performing well which is a testament to how competitive this region is looking currently.

With the exception of Polaris Esports and Nigma Galaxy SEA, the other six teams are in close competition in Division 1, as seen by the points table. Despite Nigma Galaxy SEA's record of one victory and three defeats, the squad has performed well in its losses but lacked consistency in closing out the games.

In addition to SEA, China’s Division 1 also appears to be showing signs of fierce competition. At the time of writing, all eight teams are tied with one series win and one loss.

This level of cut throat competition certainly makes Tour 3 a compelling season to watch for Dota 2 fans.
