Evil Geniuses adds Abed, Arteezy, and Cr1t- on Valve’s Majors Registration Page

On 16th Nov 2021, Evil Geniuses added Abed, Arteezy, and Cr1t- to its Dota 2 roster on the Majors Registration Page within 20 minutes.

The team captain Tal "Fly" Aizik and offlaner Daryl Koh "iceiceice" Pei Xiang are the two players who have not yet been added to Evil Geniuses' roster on the page. Currently, it is unclear whether these players will be removed from the team or added in the near future.

Previously, Cr1t- gave an unofficial confirmation of Abed and himself staying with Evil Geniuses. In the Twitch chat, there had been speculation about Evil Geniuses’ new lineup going forth without Abed. Cr1t- then pointed out that Abed was the best midlaner in the world and he would not be separated from the team. During another livestream, he stated that he did not know what led to the rumors of his departure, but he did know that he was sticking with the team.

The DPC 2021 saw Evil Geniuses, a team that includes some of Dota 2's most storied and talented players, perform consistently. In the two regional leagues, the team placed first and second, and in the two majors, the team finished second. Even though the team entered The International 10 (TI10) as one of the favorites, it was the only time in the season the team did not look its best and ended up 9th-12th.

Since then, numerous reports have suggested the departure of some players and the inclusion of others in the team. But so far, none of these reports have been confirmed by the organization. The roster lock date for the first regional league of the DPC 2021-22 is set for 21 Nov 2021, so any changes to Evil Geniuses' squad will be revealed soon.

Evil Geniuses is slated to be a part of the upper division of the North American league for the DPC 2021-22. The goal of the team for the first league would be to finish in the top two of the eight-team event in order to both gain high DPC points and qualify for the Major.
