  • The offlaner of CIS team Yellow Submarine was approached by fixers to intentionally throw a game.
  • He was offered more than $12,850 USD to throw this game, which is much higher than the money the player would receive if his team managed to secure a 3rd place finish.

Following the allegations made against Cyber Legacy and the subsequent lack of proof following it, another instance of alleged match-fixing has popped up in the CIS region. Yellow Submarine was allegedly approached to throw games with the team’s manager claiming that a player was offered 1 million Russian rubles ($12,850 USD) to do so.

“Hi, there's an opportunity to make some good money on tomorrow’s match against Navi. More than prize money you get with a win or a loss. If you agree, don't tell your manager. Besides you there will be 2 players from your team. You three will share 1 million rubbles +”

Yellow Submarine’s manager noted that this was the first time he encountered such a situation at a major championship. He stated that he was skeptical about the allegations made on Cyber Legacy by the bookmakers since there was no evidence. But after seeing his players get approached for match-fixing, he thinks that there is a possibility.
