In a recent interview on Talon Esports' YouTube channel, Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon described the differences between playing in SEA pubs and EU pubs.
In 23savage's opinion, playing in EU is more fun than SEA as EU players, including lower-ranked ones, play very well and are more focused on teamwork.
Aside from discussing the SEA server experience, 23savage and his teammate at Talon Worawit "Q" Mekchai shared their advice for young players looking to go pro.

With Dota 2 being such a global game, every region offers its own unique playstyle and understanding. Talon Esports' YouTube channel featured an interview with its carry player Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon, in which he described the difference between playing in arguably the two most popular regions - Southeast Asia (SEA) and Europe (EU). According to 23savage, the EU region as a whole is stronger, with a number of players, including people in lower ranks, who play very well. Additionally, 23savage agreed with the general idea that the SEA players tend to focus more on their individual performances than they do on their teamplay.

23savage feels EU pubs are more teamplay focused as compared to SEA pubs

As an SEA native with experience playing in the EU region during tournaments such as ESL One Summer 2021 and The International 10 as well, 23savage has played plenty of games in both regions. Agreeing that playing in the SEA region feels like it is more like “solo ranking,” 23savage described what makes playing in EU more enjoyable.

“I feel in Europe everyone is so strong. Even if you are rank 500, you are already too strong. In Europe, they play as a team more often, it’s more fun.”

Worawit "Q" Mekchai, 23savage's teammate at Talon, who was present during the interview, also said that playing in SEA is "stressful."

Popular players like Roman "Resolut1on" Fomynok and Topias Miikka "Topson" Taavitsainen have expressed their annoyance with playing in SEA pubs in the past. While Resolut1on said playing on SEA was like "taking a bucket full of s**t," Topson made a joke about needing therapy after playing on the server.

Aside from discussing the SEA server experience, 23savage and Q shared their advice for young players looking to turn pro. Q explained watching a lot of YouTube and pro player videos can help.

“Try to learn the techniques. Learn new things not only from pro players, but try looking at YouTube videos as well. I even watch WTF videos to see those unreal plays and maybe use them if I have the opportunity.”

23savage spoke particularly to the upcoming carry players, saying it's important to persevere and grind daily. “For me, play a lot. If I don’t play for a while, I feel that I am not that good anymore, so got to keep playing. I think, playing carry you always have to be on top of your game,” he said.

23savage and Q are set to be seen in action on 15th June when Talon takes on Nigma Galaxy SEA. The team has won its debut series of Tour 3 Division 1 against Polaris Esports.
