WePlay Academy League CS:GO Tournament Announced Featuring $100,000 USD Prize Pool
A huge CS:GO event focused on Academy teams.
WePlay! has announced a CS:GO tournament called 'WePlay Academy League' for upcoming teams from across Europe. Season 1 of the event features a total prize pool of $100,000 with a total of eight directly invited teams set to compete in it from 19th July to 8th August. The tournament will be a combination of an online and an offline event, with the group stage set to take place over the internet followed by the playoffs scheduled to take place in the WePlay Esports Arena Kyiv. An important tournament rule to keep in mind is that each team should consist of at least four players aged between 16 to 20 years, otherwise they will be ineligible to compete.
WePlay Academy League CS:GO Tournament - Complete Details
The $100,000 CS:GO tournament aimed towards Academy teams is scheduled to take place in three phases, starting on 19th July and coming to an end on 8th August. The eight directly invited teams set to participate in this tournament are,

The tournament will kick-start with the round-robin group stage where the eight teams will be going up against each other twice. The bottom-placed team will be eliminated, while the top three teams will directly qualify for a double elimination playoff.
The remaining four teams will move on to the gauntlet stage where they will fight it out for the final spot in the playoffs. The schedule for the three stages is as follows,
Group Stage: 19th July to 1st Aug 2021 (possible tie-breaker matches will take place on 3rd August)
Gauntlet Stage: 7th to 8th Aug 2021
Playoffs: 27th to 29th Aug 2021
The WePlay Academy League is a perfect breeding ground for daring CS:GO talent who are willing to challenge the status quo. With the new regular event circuit, the up-and-comers will be able to hone their skill and potentially get picked for the main roster.
