S1mple Talks About 'NAVI Era' and What the Team Aims to Achieve in 2022

Natus Vincere (NAVI) has had one hell of a year when it comes to competitive CS:GO, winning four consecutive LAN tournaments and eight trophies overall. With the team celebrating this achievement, their star player Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev is now convinced that CS:GO is finally witnessing the much discussed 'NAVI Era'.

The 24-year-old is on cloud nine himself, proud of having won eight MVP (Most Valuable Player) awards in 2021 and setting a new record. The star AWPer overtook Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz's record of seven medals that he had achieved in 2018 along with Astralis.

'NAVI Era' has finally begun according to s1mple

Before the start of BLAST Premier: World Final 2021, s1mple had said that "I think, people will realize when it starts". He was not sure if they had done enough to prove their worth and consider their run as an era of its own. However, the stupendous lower bracket run displayed by NAVI at the tournament seems to have turned things around.

In a post-match interview with HLTV, s1mple while speaking about the 'NAVI Era' was confident in his response as he acknowledged that at the moment he feels as if they truly are in it.

S1mple further added that he was proud of the team for having achieved this feat and was happy to be able to do this with NAVI. His impact on the team's performance has been immense as he clinched the MVP title for all their eight victories.

As for what NAVI looks to achieve in 2022, s1mple emphasized that right now the entire team needs to rest for a bit and then repeat the same results or go even further beyond.

He pointed out that there will be new rosters in 2022 as multiple teams are undergoing massive overhauls, which should make things very interesting next year. This offset of teams stepping forth with a new lineup is a double-edged sword that can work both for and against NAVI.
