FaZe Clan will need to field a stand-in for the initial stages of IEM Katowice 2022 as ropz tests positive for COVID-19.
The Estonian rifler started showing symptoms and tested positive just a few days after arriving at FaZe Clan's bootcamp for the tournament.
His quarantine will end by 19th February, so he might be able to compete in the tournament if FaZe Clan manages to qualify through the Play-In Stage.

FaZe Clan was one of the few CS:GO organizations that did not go in for a major roster overhaul after the culmination of the 2021 circuit. The only change that the team made was the addition of Robin "ropz" Kool from MOUZ, benching Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer Gustafsson in the process.

The change was effective as FaZe started off the season with a win at the recently concluded BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2022, triumphing their group to qualify for BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022.

Unfortunately, the road ahead does not seem too promising for the side as their star rifler ropz has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of IEM Katowice 2022, scheduled to take place from 15th to 27th February.

FaZe Clan in need of a stand-in for IEM Katowice 2022 as ropz tests positive

The big brain Estonian rifler, ropz, who recently found a new method for lining up difficult utility throws, will not be available for the early stages of the upcoming IEM Katowice 2022.

The 22-year-old via a public statement has revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19 a few days after arriving at FaZe Clan's bootcamp for IEM Katowice.

Ropz further said that he had developed some symptoms as well because of which he will not be able to compete with the team in the early stages of the tournament. Depending on his recovery and how well FaZe manages to perform at the Play-In Stage of the tournament, ropz may or may not be seen in action, with his current quarantine scheduled to end on 19th February.

FaZe Clan is now in need of a stand-in. They are not one of the directly qualifying teams and will have to fight their way through the Play-In Stage, scheduled to take place on 15th and 16th February.

Even if they manage to make it through the initial stage, ropz will not be able to join the side until the last day of the Group Stage, which will be taking place from 17th to 20th February.

Players, Talents, Orgs wishing Ropz a speedy recovery

So far, FaZe has not announced a stand-in and this time Olofmeister, who is currently a part of the team's inactive roster, will not be able to help them out, as has been the case in the past.

Whatever the case may be, FaZe surely has a Herculean task ahead of them to make it through to the Playoffs!
