Report: Imperial Nears $200,000 Buyout for Chelo From MIBR to Revamp CS:GO Team

Imperial Esports has reportedly entered the final phase of negotiations with MIBR for chelo, who might replace fnx on its active CS:GO roster.
It is being claimed that the buyout amount for chelo is about $200,000 USD, but no official statements on the matter have been made by any of the parties involved.
Chelo recently competed in the PGL Antwerp Major 2022 along with MIBR, managing to grab a 17th-19th finish.

The hyped Brazilian 'last dance' CS:GO roster competing under the banner of Imperial Esports might soon be parting ways with each other. Earlier reports claimed that Lincoln "fnx" Lau might soon be on his way out, with Imperial having targetted Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes as a potential replacement.

It was earlier stated that signing chelo was proving to be quite a task for Imperial as it was trying its best to negotiate an offer and complete his buyout from one of the most popular Brazilian esports organizations, MIBR.

According to an updated report by Dust 2 Brazil, Imperial Esports seems to have neared in on a $200,000 USD (BRL 1,035,300 or INR 1,58,12,600) buyout deal with MIBR for acquiring chelo.

Though the negotiations have allegedly entered their final phase, nothing has been set in stone so far.

The 'last dance' which consisted of the Major winning trio of Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, Fernando "fer" Alvarenga, and Lincoln "fnx" Lau, might soon be coming to an end with the departure of fnx on the cards.

His potential replacement, chelo, who currently leads the Brazilian roster of MIBR, might be on his way over to Imperial, as the two organizations have supposedly almost closed in on a $200,000 USD buyout for the 24-year-old.

Chelo can act as the entry fragger for the side and has quite a bit of experience to back his skills, having previously played for teams like paiN Gaming, Luminosity Gaming, INTZ, BOOM Esports, and MIBR to name a few.

After having played a ton of regional CS:GO tournaments, advancing on to the international stage, to competing with MIBR earlier this year at the PGL Antwerp Major 2022 and finishing 17th-19th overall, chelo certainly has the makings of a good player.

It will be interesting to see if the reports come true or not, with a few weeks still left to go for the summer player break to conclude. The new Imperial Esports lineup, if the changes actually take place, will look as follows:
