Rain recently shared that he was on the verge of leaving FaZe Clan in 2020, but stayed back as karrigan was about to join them.
He had plans of starting something in Norway and was already in talks with a few Norwegian people.
Though rain stayed in FaZe, he is committed to returning to Norway, helping further the scene along with grooming some young players.

One of the longest-serving FaZe Clan CS:GO member, Håvard "rain" Nygaard, has been a part of their active lineup for almost six years now. The Norwegian rifler joined the organization in January 2016 and has been with them ever since.

Rain is considered to be one of the most effective entry fraggers in the game, whose name has become synonymous with the North American organization over the years. So, when the 27-year-old revealed that he had thought of leaving the team last year in 2020 to set up something of his own in Norway, during an interview with Fragbite, it was quite the revelation for the CS:GO community!

Rain reveals that he was about to leave FaZe Clan last year

The oldest serving member of FaZe Clan in its current active CS:GO roster, rain, recently revealed that he was thinking about leaving the organization last year.

He did not feel like continuing with FaZe following Nikola "NiKo" Kovač's departure to G2 Esports. However, rain changed his mind upon finding out that plans were being made to bring in Finn "karrigan" Andersen as the new IGL (in-game leader) of the team.

If karrigan had not been on his way to FaZe, the entry fragger had made up his mind to return to Norway and setup his own Norwegian CS:GO team. Rain was very serious about this, as he goes on to say that he had already initiated talks with a few Norwegian people, discussing his plans.

Last year when everything was going down with NiKo going to G2 and stuff, I was in talks with a few Norwegian people trying to setup something in Norway. But in the end I got an offer and word that karrigan was coming next year, so that is what I ended up doing.

Though FaZe Clan has not done incredibly well this year, their run at the Stockholm Major was quite impressive. It remains to be seen if rain will stick around or not, as he did mention that staying with FaZe might have been the right choice at that point in time, "but eventually I will go back to Norway and try to further the scene there while grooming some young players too".

At the moment there are no substantial reports that have surfaced about the team undergoing any changes, apart from the one about Robin "ropz" Kool joining FaZe.
