Nexa Claims YEKINDAR Buyout Amount Is Around One Million Dollars

Late last month right after the PGL Antwerp Major 2022, Virtus.pro had taken a decision to bench CS:GO player Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis, who was reportedly under a lot of pressure since he was a Latvian citizen playing for a Russian esports organization.

Since then YEKINDAR has been linked to several potential moves but nothing fruitful has transpired so far. Even his rumored move to NAVI was shut down when Oleksii "xaoc" Kucherov - COO of NAVI, had come forward to personally deny the possibility of any such transfer taking place.

Now, information has come to light that YEKINDAR's buyout amount might be around $1,000,000 USD (INR 7,80,89,500), according to a statement made by fellow CS:GO player Nemanja "nexa" Isaković during an interview with Pley.

After OG's victory against NAVI in the opening match of the BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022, Nexa while speaking about the OG roster rebuild gave away a few unexpected pieces of information which have become the topic of discussion across the CS:GO community.

When asked why OG CS:GO settled for Adam "NEOFRAG" Zouhar and Maciej "F1KU" Miklas instead of aiming for tier-one players, Nexa responded by saying that "Basically we tried to get YEKINDAR, but his buyout was somewhere around one million so it was a no-go. We tried to get jks (Justin Savage) but he was not interested in joining us and then from the other available players I think NEOFRAG and F1KU were the best choice."

He further explained that OG trialled a few other players and the team even practiced with them, out of which NEOFRAG and F1KU were the best choices for the team to go ahead with. "They were not cheap, we still paid the buyers what was needed to be paid," added Nexa, concluding by saying, "We couldn't afford YEKINDAR and jks was pretty much not interested in joining us."

Following this statement by nexa, jks came forward to "clarify some misinformation" which he feels was relayed through the interview about his transfer negotiations with OG's CS:GO player.

According to the Australian rifler, "He had discussions (with OG) and then their original plans changed. I asked for more info regarding the lineup before making decisions and they went with other players."

The revamped OG CS:GO roster has outdone themselves by directly qualifying for the semifinals of BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022, handing consecutive defeats to NAVI and ENCE. It remains to be seen if they can go all the way to maybe lift the trophy.
