The PGL Major Stockholm 2021 has come to an end with Natus Vincere (NAVI) finally lifting a Major trophy. The Ukrainian esports organization also made history by becoming the first ever CS:GO team to go undefeated at the Majors, as they finished with a clean '10-0' record.

It was not an easy journey though, as NAVI had to face multiple tough opponents on their way to winning the Major - Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Vitality, Gambit Esports, and finally G2 Esports.

The grand finals was the most closely contested match for the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) side with a double overtime finish on the second map (Nuke). G2 was on the verge of forcing a third game (Mirage), but the resilience of NAVI was insurmountable.

Both the senior players Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev and Denis "electronic" Sharipov stepped up for the side to ensure a final '2-0' score, leading NAVI to walk away as the champions along with $1,000,000 USD in prize money.

Natus Vincere was on fire in Stockholm. They were touted as being the team with the highest chance of winning the Major before the tournament. Despite doubts the CIS squad delivered a consistently dominant performance throughout the event to come forth as the champions.

NAVI didn't just win its first Major title, but they did it in style by creating history. On the back of their strong performances, NAVI managed to win the tournament without dropping even a single map, becoming the first CS:GO team to ever achieve this feat.

Their match against G2 Esports in the grand finals was the closest NAVI came to losing a map. NAVI registered a comfortable '16-11' win on Ancient, a surprise map pick by G2 which took everyone by surprise. The two teams then later played on Nuke.

This was where G2 started to cause some serious problems, they took a heavy lead in the first half and even reached the map point in the 25th round. However, NAVI resurfaced from the depths of defeat to win five consecutive rounds, forcing not one but two overtimes.

The map finally came to an end with a '22-19' scoreline in favor of NAVI, as they walked away with another '2-0' victory and lifted the trophy up high in front of 16,000 spectators at the Avicii Arena, Stockholm.

One of the best CS:GO players in the world, s1mple, really stood out during the grand finals and delivered when it mattered the most. He was crowned as the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, winning his first Major MVP along with his first Major title.

I told myself that I would stay in NAVI and win a Major with them, I promised myself, and we did it. A lot of people didn't believe and made some jokes, but we f***king did it, the Major is ours.
