NAF confirmed in a recent interview that he was about to potentially join Evil Geniuses before choosing to extend his contract with Team Liquid.
The Canadian rifler is the first and only CS:GO player so far that has been confirmed by Liquid as part of their 2022 lineup.
NAF revealed how his plans of joining EG fell through while also explaining the reason behind all of it.

There have been multiple reports and speculations with regards to Team Liquid's potential CS:GO roster for the 2022 competitive season. However, when the North American organization extended its contract with Keith "NAF" Markovic, it was an unexpected decision that took many by surprise. The move also confirmed NAF as the first official CS:GO player that would play for Liquid in the next competitive season.

NAF, in a recent interview with Pley, spoke about his decision to stay with Liquid. He revealed that before extending his contract he was actually looking into joining Evil Geniuses (EG). But unfortunately, this potential roster move fell apart.

NAF went on to explain the reason as to why his potential move to EG never took place and also what he aimed to achieve with Team Liquid in 2022.

The 24-year-old Canadian rifler, NAF, might have settled down with Team Liquid but he seemed to have piqued the interest of various top tier North American organizations like Evil Geniuses.

NAF revealed that before extending his contract with Team Liquid he was exploring various other options, this included the potential move to Evil Geniuses which eventually fell through.

NAF who was initially interested in the offer, turned it down after some changes were made, which he did not particularly like or appreciate. He also had a standing offer from Liquid at that point in time to continue with the organization.

Since EG made changes that he did not like, NAF ended up extending his contract with Liquid.

To shed some light on the situation NAF explained what was actually going on and said,

I guess without going into too much detail, we kinda set up a project that we wanted to create with specific individual players on EG and I guess in the end EG wasn't too much of a fan of it. So, in the end I obviously wanted to just stay with Liquid because they proposed a very good roster as well, that I'm very confident in.

After having concluded negotiations between these two top tier CS:GO organizations from North America, NAF is now satisfied with the decision that he has taken and is very happy to be staying with the team he has been competing with since February 2018.

It will be interesting to see what the entire Liquid CS:GO roster looks like for the 2022 competitive season. As per the ongoing reports, Liquid's potential roster looks something like this,

  • Keith "NAF" Markovic - Confirmed

  • Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski

  • Josh "oSee" Ohm

  • Nick "nitr0" Cannella
