The largest transaction in the history of CS:GO reportedly took place in June last year when two skins were sold for about $780,000 USD.
The two CS:GO skins that were sold were 'AWP|Dragon Lore (Souvenir FN)' and 'Case Hardened AK-47 (StatTrak MW 661)'.
The transaction had reportedly taken place in cash somewhere in China, with the two parties meeting in person.

Most players buy CS:GO skins just for a weapon or character makeover in the game. Though it does not improve gameplay (debatable) it does add a touch of flair and personalization which changes from user to user.

However, there are some collectors in the game that use these virtual cosmetic items as a source of investment. This can be very lucrative if the items are traded to the right people, in a smart manner.

Among the list of profitable high roller trades, most of which take place behind closed doors, the largest reported transaction in the history of CS:GO allegedly took place in June 2021 when two of the most valuable skins were sold for a whopping sum of $780,000 USD (INR 6,03,41,970).

Largest reported CS:GO skin transaction in history: $780,000 for two items

In June last year, news about the largest transaction ever in the history of CS:GO made headlines when someone, probably a high roller collector, purchased two skins for a combined sum of $780,000 USD.

The news about this deal was originally broken through a Chinese Tik Tok video, but most of the CS:GO community got to know about it through a trader who goes by the name of Kirito on Twitter.

According to the information given by him the huge transaction was packaged in one single deal and had allegedly taken place face-to-face, as the two parties having met physically to make it happen.

From the Tik Tok shared by Kirito the information obtained about the two CS:GO skins is as follows:

  • The first skin that can be seen in the clip is a 'AWP|Dragon Lore (Souvenir FN)'. This is one of the rarest and most sought-after cosmetic items in the game, a dream of every great marksman and is even favored by the GOAT of CS:GO - Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev.

This particular skin was added to the game in July 2014 and is part of the Cobblestone Collection, which was released along with Operation Breakout. Due to its extremely low drop rate the skin carries a hefty price and it is not often that one comes across a user wielding it in the game.

The Dragon Lore mentioned above is even rarer than the normal one because it is a Souvenir variant, this means that it was obtained through a Souvenir Package during one of the CS:GO Major tournaments, as it is the only time a player stands a chance of getting one.

  • The second skin shown in the clip is a ‘Case Hardened AK-47 (StatTrak MW 661)’. This weapon might not be anywhere close to the price that the former cosmetic item carries, but it still looks very elegant and is an actively sought-after classified weapon skin.

  • The values of both the weapons are further boosted as they carry four '2014 Katowice Titan Holo' stickers each. This means that in total eight of those stickers are being sold along with the weapons, further justifying the value of this entire trade.

Titan Holo stickers are some of the most expensive out there and were released as part of EMS One Katowice 2014. The Holo variant of the sticker sells for about $25,000 USD (INR 19,33,800) a piece, which means that the eight of them collectively increased the value of this trade by roughly $200,000 USD (INR 1,54,70,400).

Talking about this deal, another famous CS:GO trader who goes by the name of zipeL on Twitter had predicted that the 'AWP | Dragon Lore (Souvenir FN)' probably sold for about $530,000 USD (INR 4,09,96,560) while the 'Case Hardened AK-47 (StatTrak MW 661)' went for $250,000 USD (INR 1,93,38,000).

Though the source for the above information is limited it seems to have attracted a lot of attention from the CS:GO community and it seems pretty legit by the looks of it. For now, it seems to be the biggest transaction in history which results in the two skins combined being the most expensive in CS:GO so far.
