M0NESY Explains How G2 Esports Can Improve Its Performance in CS:GO
The rookie seems to know exactly where the team currently lacks.
It has not been the most exciting competitive season for G2 Esports so far as it continues to struggle despite housing quite a solid roster. Its recent trip to North America was cut short following a close '2-1' defeat to FURIA Esports in the quarterfinals of IEM Dallas 2022.
Going back to the drawing board, G2 Esports need to figure out what is holding them back from going all out and clinching that much-needed victory. Speaking on this topic, Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov, had a few thoughts to offer and seems to have a good idea of where the team is currently lacking.
G2 m0NESY points out how the team can improve its performance in CS:GO
Despite undergoing quite a heavy shuffle, G2 Esports has not been able to secure a win so far this year, the closest it came to is a runner-up finish at the IEM Katowice 2022.
In the last two outings, FURIA Esports seems to have become a massive roadblock for the side, eliminating the team from both IEM Dallas 2022 and the PGL Antwerp Major 2022 following a close '2-1' clash.
Speaking on how the team can improve itself going forward, the Russian prodigy m0NESY pointed out that their team chemistry is still lacking along with the fact that they have quite a restrictive map pool, during an interview with BLIX.GG.
"We need to strengthen our team chemistry and work on the map pool. G2 has a very difficult map pool, like we can have a 100% [win rate] on Inferno but if you go on other maps say Ancient we have 0%," remarked m0NESY, "We should work more and have like a good chemistry in the team, for example FaZe Clan showed what good chemistry can achieve."
Speaking about his own performance, m0NESY explained that he has been working really hard ever since he joined the team, taking everything as a lesson and trying his best to be "more consistent, more confident in myself, and the team."
It will be interesting to see how the team moves ahead from here on and what we can all expect from them at the upcoming BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022. All eyes will be on G2 Esports as they will be opening things for 'Group-A' in Lisbon, Portugal by taking on paiN Gaming on 15th June at 14:30 IST.
