Evil Geniuses (EG) has now placed last in its respective group stage, across the last three seasons of the ESL Pro League.
EG is also currently on a fourteen match losing streak when it comes to their performance at the ESL Pro League.
Due to their poor performance in the last three seasons of the ESL Pro League, EG can now be subjected to a review by ESL according to a rule in the Louvre Agreement.

North American esports organization Evil Geniuses (EG) is hanging by a thread as its CS:GO team continues to put up poor performances at the ESL Pro League (EPL) tournaments.

The team has now placed last in the group stage of EPL Season 13, 14, and 15. What makes EG's predicament even worse is also the fact that the team is currently on a 14 match losing streak when it comes to the ESL Pro League franchise.

EG last won a series at the tournament back on 25th March 2021, beating Astralis with a '2-1' scoreline in the opening group stage match of the ESL Pro League Season 13.

Since then it has been a futile attempt by the side to register a win at the tournament. Though it had not been a cause for concern for the organization in the past, due to them being a 'Permanent Partner Team', Evil Geniuses' third consecutive last-place finish in the group stage of the ESL Pro League Season 15 has landed them in a tough spot due to a certain clause in the Louvre Agreement.

Evil Geniuses might lose permanent ESL Pro League slot due to consecutive last place finish in the group stage

Nothing seems to be working for Evil Geniuses as despite the massive overhaul of its CS:GO roster for the 2022 competitive season, there is no improvement in the team's performance so far.

In the last three seasons of the ESL Pro League, EG has been attaining a last place finish in its respective group and this has resulted in it being eligible for a review by the organizers, according to a rule mentioned in the Louvre Agreement which reads as follows:

Partner Teams have a permanent slot in Pro League every season. The permanent slot shall be subject to review if Partner Team places last in their group in 3 out of 4 seasons.

Evil Geniuses is currently on a 14 match losing streak when it comes to performing in the ESL Pro League tournaments.

In Season 13, EG opened with a win against Astralis which was followed by four consecutive losses against Virtus.pro, Fnatic, Team Liquid, and Endpoint. This resulted in a last place finish for EG in 'Group-D' with a '1-4' scoreline.

  • Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov

  • Tarik "tarik" Celik

  • Owen "oBo" Schlatter

In Season 14, EG extended its losing streak further by facing five back-to-back defeats against BIG, FaZe Clan, Mousesports, NAVI, and Fnatic. This resulted in another last place finish for EG in 'Group-C' with a '0-5' scoreline.

In Season 15, EG with a promising new lineup failed miserably as it registered five more defeats to extend its losing streak even further. This time it went on to lose against Astralis, NAVI, Heroic, Complexity Gaming, and AGO, resulting in a hattrick of last place finishes.

This has been a topic of discussion within the CS:GO community for quite some time now and it will be interesting to see what ESL decides as they are facing a lot of pressure from the fans while also dealing with a team that is one of its permanent partners.
