Dignitas Steps Back From Competitive CS:GO, Releases Entire Team

One of the most respected esports organizations when it comes to CS:GO, Dignitas, has taken a decision to step back from the competitive side of things just a month after benching and transfer-listing its entire lineup.

In an official statement released by Dignitas earlier today on 17^th June, the organization revealed that during the interim period they tried out a number of roster iterations, following which they took a decision, that it was in the best interest of everyone involved to "allow all players and coaches the opportunity to explore other options" while announcing their departure from CS:GO "for the foreseeable future".

Dignitas announces its exit from competitive CS:GO

The Swedish lineup of Dignitas has been released as they announce their exit from CS:GO for the second time in the game's history. August 2018 was the first time ever that Dignitas had decided to drop its entire lineup, stepping back from the scene for the entirety of 2019 before making a return in January 2020.

Now more than two years later, Dignitas has once again stepped back from CS:GO and released its entire lineup which consisted of the players and coaches:

• Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli

• Ludvig "HEAP" Alonso

• Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson

• Faruk "pita" Pita [Coach]

Just a month back, Dignitas had decided to bench and transfer-list its entire CS:GO team stating that they would be trying out some new players and would announce a new roster soon, which would comprise of some former players as well.

The main reason behind this decision was their absence from the PGL Antwerp Major 2022 as Dignitas failed to qualify for the European RMR A. It remains to be seen when the organization may return to CS:GO as the last time it had taken a nearly 16-month break.
