CS:GO Team Kicks Player During a BO3 Series in Pro Tournament

The CS:GO competitive scene never ceases to amaze the community at large. Once again the North American region was in the spotlight, with one of its teams making a roster change right in the middle of its BO3 series.

In a recent match between Strife Esports and MIBR during the currently ongoing ESL Challenger League Season 40: North America, Strife Esports made an abrupt roster shuffle between two maps.

After the first map was played, Strife replaced Danny “cxzi” Strzelczyk following his poor individual performance on Overpass. The team proceeded to complete the match with Austin "AAustiN" Urb who came in as an emergency substitute for the side.

However, AAustiN is not the replacement player. According to Bobby “stamina” Eitrem who is one of the Strife players, Matthew “D4rtyMontana” Paplawskas is set to be the new fifth player as per a statement provided to Dust2.us.

North American CS:GO team undergoes roster shuffle mid-series during an official tournament

The North American region continues to amaze the CS:GO community as a player was kicked mid-series. All the viewers got to know about the change when an announcement was made by the casters, who were themselves taken aback by surprise.

The 21-year-old North American player, cxzi, played the first map with Strife against MIBR. Unfortunately, his individual performance lacked on Overpass where he could only muster five kills with an Average Damage per Round of just 39.3 and an HLTV rating of 0.45.

This became cxzi's worst online performance since December 2021 and his seventh worst played online map of all time. Soon after the map was over, Strife took a decision to part ways with him right in the middle of their ESL Challenger League Season 40 series against MIBR.

Strife went ahead to complete the series with Austin "AAustiN" Urb coming in as an emergency substitute. However, this did not help them much as they went on to lose the series with a '2-0' scoreline.

While AAustiN will continue to compete with Strife through the entirety of ESL Challenger League Season 40, he is not the permanent fifth player. While no official player has been signed so far, as per reports D4rtyMontana could be the one joining the North American side.
