CS:GO Star Dev1ce Explains His Situation, Dismisses Astralis Return Rumors

Danish CS:GO player, Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz, is going through a rough patch on both professional and personal fronts, and it has taken a toll on his mental health. After reports arose that the 26-year-old was thinking of moving back to Astralis following a poor run with Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP), dev1ce came forward to provide clarification from his side.

He explained his current situation to all the fans and community members talking about how his mental health had "taken a hammering" this year, due to which he had to take step back and concentrate on his recovery. The Dane also refuted all the reports about him leaving NIP, calling them "nonsense" while also requesting some space and privacy to deal with everything.

Dev1ce refutes Astralis return rumors and shares details about his mental health

On 20^th December, reports had broken out claiming that dev1ce was keen on moving back to Astralis just seven months after transferring to the Swedish roster of NIP. The news started to spread like wildfire, forcing dev1ce to come forward and provide clarification on the situation from his side.

He started off by admitting that his mental health is suffering due to both personal and professional reasons. While he did not touch upon the personal aspect, he did say that the pressure which comes from competing professionally has been overwhelming for him.

With regards to dev1ce's professional front, his statement stands true given that since dev1ce joined NIP they have only won one CS:GO tournament, IEM Fall 2021: Europe. His performance has also suffered individually without any significant improvement through the year.

Dev1ce further explained that he has started taking active steps towards recovery, for which he is currently putting in the work that shall enable him to get back to the top of his game.

This is why dev1ce was absent from the last two tournaments that NIP participated in, namely IEM Winter 2021: Playoffs and BLAST Premier: World Final 2021. However, dev1ce intends to become the best version of himself and continue competing with NIP, dismissing all the reports about him moving to Astralis.

Both organizations, Astralis and NIP, responded to this clarification given by dev1ce, supporting him for outlining the importance of mental health and sent forward their best wishes for his recovery.

Many other players and personalities like Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen, Epitácio "TACO" de Melo, Hicham Chahine, Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras, Jaime Padua, FaZe Teeqo, Linus "LNZ" Holtäng, Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora, and more responded with their best wishes.

This clears up the situation for now as dev1ce intends to utilize the break to concentrate on his mental health and hopefully return stronger in 2022 to continue competing with NIP.
