Heroic finally defeated NAVI in a series, after more than two years, to qualify for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 through the European RMR.
The last time Heroic had beaten NAVI was in October 2019 at the StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 8.
After defeating NAVI, Heroic's shotcaller CadiaN expressed that it felt really good to win against them because they had given him a lot of sleepless nights when he could have slept way better.

The Danish esports organization Heroic has been struggling for years to defeat Natus Vincere (NAVI) in a proper series. Heroic have stolen a map multiple times but had failed to defeat NAVI for the longest of times. But now they have prevailed in the qualifier match of the European RMR.

Finally, after more than two years Heroic managed to take down NAVI with a '2-1' scoreline, breaking the curse and in the process qualifying for the PGL Antwerp Major 2022 with a 'Legend Status'.

Talking about this in an interview with HLTV after the match, Heroic's IGL (in-game leader) Casper "cadiaN" Møller expressed that it felt really good because "they (NAVI) have given me a lot of nights where I definitely could have slept way better."

It was a huge moment for Heroic to defeat NAVI in the qualifier match for a spot in the Antwerp Major. Like many times before both the teams had won a map each, NAVI secured its map pick Mirage (16-11), while Heroic won on Inferno (16-13).

It was down to a decider on Nuke, NAVI was the favorite to win this series as they were the better team on the map according to stats. But Heroic was all set to cause an upset, beating NAVI with a '16-9' scoreline to win a series against them for the first time since October 2019.

CadiaN was more than relieved following this curse lifting victory. "It feels amazing," said the Danish hype man, "The last time me and stavn (Martin Lund) beat them, like the others, I don't think they have ever beaten NAVI, but the last time stavn and I did was at a StarSeries (StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 8) in Turkey, in like 2018 or 2019. So yeah, it felt great."

He did point out that NAVI is currently facing "very difficult circumstances" under which it becomes tough to perform, something he has experienced along with his team in the past.

Admiring them for sticking together as a unit and competing at such a high-level, cadiaN remarked "All five of them have earned my respect multiple times in the past, but this is giving even more respect from my side."

Heroic qualify for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022

At the end of the second day, Heroic and BIG became the first two CS:GO teams from the region to qualify for the Antwerp Major. NAVI still has a chance to qualify for the Major and secure one of the two remaining legend spots, as they take on Vitality for the same later today at 18:15 IST.
