BIG has announced that a German youngster, s1n, will be a part of the team for both BLAST Premier: Fall European Showdown 2022 and IEM Rio Major 2022.
The 20-year-old talented rifler is a part of BIG Academy and has been promoted to fill in for faveN who is sidelined due to illness.
He has already played for BIG during the European RMR, helping the team secure itself a Challengers Stage slot in the Rio Major.

The IEM Rio Major 2022 is all set to take place at the end of this month in Brazil and BIG has prepared its roster for the tournament by announcing the addition of a fairly inexperienced German youngster, Elias "s1n" Stein.

Currently a part of BIG Academy, s1n will be joining the main roster temporarily for the ongoing BLAST Premier: Fall European Showdown 2022 and the upcoming Rio Major. The 20-year-old is being promoted as a replacement for Josef "faveN" Baumann, who has been sidelined due to illness.

This is not the first time that the young rifler will be competing with BIG as he was a part of the roster during its fight through the IEM Road to Rio 2022: European RMR B.

BIG confirms German youngster s1n as part of the team for two CS:GO tournaments

The 20-year-old who was a part of BIG during the European qualifier, played a total of nine maps with the team, averaging an overall HLTV rating of 0.92, K/D of -19, KPR of 0.55, and DPR of 0.63.

His performance was lauded by the team's captain, Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz, who stated that he was much better than what they had expected and he had helped the team secure a slot in the Rio Major.

During the qualifiers, BIG won its opening matches against Sangal Esports and Team Vitality, along with the do-or-die decider against the Russian side of K23. The team did run into a bit of trouble against ENCE and Heroic, missing out on a chance to obtain the Legend Status, but it managed to make it through in the end.

The young talented rifler, s1n has already been a part of BIG Academy since January 2022, putting up consistently great performances across various European tournaments including several seasons of the coveted WePlay Academy League.

  • WAL Season 5 - 18 maps, 1.24 rating, +81 K/D

  • WAL Season 4 - 16 maps, 1.17 rating, +45 K/D

  • WAL Season 3 - 17 maps, 1.04 rating, +13 K/D

BIG will be going into a stacked Challengers Stage with a slight handicap and it will surely be interesting to see how far it is able to go in the Major.
