AI predicts which eight CS:GO teams have the highest chance of qualifying through the PGL Major 2021: Legends Stage.
Based on the results of over 200,000 simulations the eight qualifying teams are NAVI, Vitality, Liquid, Gambit, FaZe, NIP, FURIA, and Copenhagen Flames.
The Challengers Stage predictions made by the same AI had a success rate of 87.5% as 7 out of 8 predicted teams qualified for the Legends Stage.

The first CS:GO Major in over two years, PGL Major Stockholm 2021, is well underway. The Challengers Stage has already concluded with eight teams qualifying ahead to the Legends Stage, while the remaining eight teams bid farewell to the tournament.

Similar to last time, where an Artificial Intelligence (AI) had predicted which eight CS:GO teams would be qualifying through the opening stage of the Major, another such simulation was run for the Legends Stage.

After running more than 200,000 simulations for the 16-team Swiss format group stage, the AI developed by GGPredict predicted which eight teams had the maximum chance of qualifying for the Champions Stage (Playoffs) among those competing.

Everyone who has purchased the Stockholm 2021 Viewer Pass and has access to Pick'Em, might want to take a look at what the AI has to say.

AI predicts which PGL Major teams have the highest chance of qualifying into the top eight

A combination of AI and Machine Learning was used to run more than 200,000 simulations for all the 16 CS:GO teams that together comprise of the PGL Major Stockholm 2021: Legends Stage. As per the calculations, here are the eight teams that are predicted to make it through to the Playoffs (Champions Stage):

  1. Natus Vicnere - 86.82%

  2. Team Vitality - 77.36%

  3. Team Liquid - 69.39%

  4. Gambit Esports - 68.24%

  5. FaZe Clan - 62.43%

  6. Ninjas in Pyjamas - 54.47%

  7. FURIA Esports - 53.33%

  8. Copenhagen Flames - 51.20%

This prediction comes following the previous one done for the Challengers Stage. The success rate for the Challengers Stage was 87.5% as seven out of the eight predicted teams made it through to the Legends Stage.

BIG with a 70.59% chance was the predicted team that failed to qualify due to the surprisingly outstanding performance put forth by Copenhagen Flames, who qualified with a clean '3-0' scoreline.

PGL Major Stockholm 2021: Legends Stage - Complete Predictions

As per GGPredict, who have conducted all the simulations and come up with the predictions listed above, even roster shuffles have been taken into consideration by the prediction tool. Higher number of lineup changes shall result in a higher volatility of the team's performance for a short duration.

The system in place does not account for which map is being played or where the match is taking place (LAN/online). However, it still takes into consideration the statistics of all the players on the team, recent performances of all the teams, strength of their opponents, and the tournament level.

After successful predictions for the Challengers Stage (7 out of 8 predictions were correct), we have run our models once again for the Legends Stage of the PGL Major. We see some results being influenced by previous games. Astralis is not expected to advance, after a poor beginning in the tournament, and FaZe advances to be one of the strongest teams. Across the teams who start their tournament now, NAVI is a clear favorite for the event. EG is the least likely to succeed, but we’ve already seen surprising results in Stockholm. Enjoy our results and good luck with your Pick'Ems.

There are drawbacks to this system of prediction such as the recent results of all the teams have been given more weightage, the human element of how well a team or an individual handles stress has not been taken into consideration, and teams that mostly compete in a closed region could result in a skewed outcome as their local competitors are considered quite weak.

As per GGpredict, the simulations and data represented by them is mostly for fun and that the real outcome might vary significantly.
