Garena has announced what seems to be the first ever Call of Duty: Mobile tournament for players in Thailand and including a LAN finale. The title’s release and subsequent success led to over 100 million downloads in the first week with speculations that it would soon turn into an esport. The fact that COD: Mobile belongs to a successful series which has a long standing history with esports and given its natural competitive gameplay, it seemed as if it would only be a matter of time, before Call of Duty: Mobile became a mobile esport title.
