Will PUBG: New State Release in India?

PUBG Mobile was banned in India since it was developed by Chinese developer Tencent. However, PUBG's PC version remains unbanned due to the game's South Korean origins. PUBG New State’s development is credited to KRAFTON, Inc. and PUBG Studio (both non-Chinese companies) which could mean that the game will be available in India.

However, the official pre-registration page alerts Indian players that the game is not available in the region. The official global press release also clearly states that "Android pre-registration does not include China, India or Vietnam."

AFK Gaming has reached out to Krafton for their comments on the matter and will update this article if we receive a response.

Krafton recently hired former YOZOO Games’ former CEO Anuj Tandon as its new Regional head for India and MENA. It also appointed a new PUBG Mobile operations team in India in December 2020.
