What Is PUBG Mobile Season 17's Release Date?
- Season 17 of PUBG Mobile will begin on 19th January at 2:00 AM UTC (Universal Time) which is 7:30 AM IST.
- After the end of Season 16, the Royale Pass section will be locked for 24 hours beginning from 18th January 2021.
- Players are in for a twist in PUBG Mobile’s Season 17 with the arrival of special runes that give players powers/abilities which they can use throughout the match.
As Season 16 of PUBG Mobile comes to an end, players can gear up for some unique Season 17 gameplay which will introduce a new Royale Pass, Runic Power mode, Metro Royale content and more.
PUBG Mobile Season 17 Release Date
After the end of Season 16, the Royale Pass section will be locked for 24 hours beginning from 18th January 2021. Following this, Season 17 of PUBG Mobile will begin on 19th January at 2:00 AM UTC (Universal Time) which is 7:30 AM IST.
Runic Power In Season 17 Of PUBG Mobile
Players are in for a twist in PUBG Mobile’s Season 17 with the arrival of special runes that give players powers/abilities which they can use throughout the match. At the start of the match, players will be able to choose between three runes on Spawn Island.
The Flame Rune, Wind Rune and Arctic Rune will all give players unique powers which they can use by collecting enough crystals around the map and activating the abilities.

The runes and their abilities will include the following:
The Flame Rune has two abilities. The first one is the Magma Wheel (10 crystals) which summons up to 3 slow-moving wheels of flame that will deal fire damage to players in their path. It also stays still for 120 seconds at the end of its path, making for a good place to take cover. The second ability called Scorching Ammo (5 crystals) gives players incendiary (fire) ammo for 30 seconds which burn the enemies it hits.
The Wind Rune’s two abilities allow players to create a shield of wind and increase their movement speed while decreasing reload time. Wind Shelter (10 crystals) reduces incoming bullet damage by 27%. Note that the shield doesn’t move with the player. Wind Boost grants players 10% more movement speed and 50% faster reload speed. This rune also gives players 1.5 times damage increase to Ice Walls created by the Arctic Rune.
Arctic Rune also has two abilities. The Ice Wall (10 crystals) creates a 3x3 size wall in front of the players blocking out damage. It also lifts any players standing on the wall into the air. Arctic Rune also grants freezing ammo (5 crystals) which reduces healing effectiveness for enemies and deals 1.5 times more damage to Magma Wheels created with the Flame Rune.
In addition to these powers, players will now find FAMAS variable-fire assault rifle that uses 5.56mm ammo with reduced recoil.
