CODM nominated again for Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards 2020

Mobile Battle Royale games have been very hot this year. A lot of Mobile Battle Royale games have been released but the colossal trio of the genre namely: Call of Duty: Mobile(CODM), Free Fire, and PUBG Mobile continue to dominate the playing field. This year, one of the biggest Battle Royale games has been nominated for “Best Mobile Game” for this year’s “The Game Awards 2020,” alongside 4 popular mobile games from different genres.

What is The Game Awards 2020?

“The Game Awards” is an annual awards ceremony honoring achievements in the video game industry. The voting is composed of the voting jury and public fan voting. This award ceremony has been founded in 2014 by Media Entrepreneur Geoff Keighley, who also hosts and produces the program. One of the categories in the ceremony is the "Best Mobile Game" title where CODM is nominated as one of the possible candidates.

Best Mobile Game 2020 Nominees

Along with Call of Duty: Mobile, four other competitors for the "Best Mobile Game" title have been nominated. Among Us, Genshin Impact, Legends of Runeterra, and Pokémon Café Mix are also nominated for Best Mobile Game 2020. 

• Call of Duty: Mobile is a shooter mobile game developed by TiMi Studios and published by Activision and Garena for Android and iOS. Launched in October 2019, the game surpassed 250 million downloads in less than 10 months.
• Genshin Impact is a fantasy-themed, open world, action role-playing game developed and published by miHoYo.During the first week of the release, the game has been downloaded 17 million times globally. The game received tremendous praise from the first few weeks of its release.
• Among Us was originally launched in 2018, but has started gaining momentum and became popular after streamers started playing it live on their streams, often collaborating with other streamer and their own fans. InnerSloth’s seemingly simple game blew up and became one of the most streamed games on Twitch.
• Legends of Runeterra is a trading card game developed and published by Riot Games. The game features iconic champions and monsters from their popular game, League of Legends. It’s beautiful visuals and colorful characters along with incredible lore that connects to their other games entice their fans to keep playing the game.
• Pokémon Café Mix has recently launched in June 2020 by Genius Sonority and is published by Nintendo. This game features iconic Pokémon characters in a cute café themed puzzle game designed for the Nintendo Switch and smartphones.

Last year, Call of Duty: Mobile was crowned “Best Mobile Game 2019,” against 4 competitors namely; Grindstone, Sayonara Wild Hearts, What the Golf?, and Sky: The Children of Light.
