MLBB New Hero Mathilda Obtainable for Free this December

Looks like Moonton has been hard at work these past few months. After releasing their new hero Benedetta for free, Moonton is releasing yet another free-to-play hero Mathilda this December, in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang(MLBB). 

Mathilda Release Date

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang posted a video on Youtube featuring their new event, and skins with a western-style theme titled “Blazing West”. According to Moonton, their 101st hero Mathilda will also be free to claim at the tail end of the event.

The items you can claim for free when you login to the game are:

• November 21 – Clint or Claude emote
• November 28 – Cerulean Winds Vale
• December 5 – Blazing West avatar border
• December 12 – Mathilda

The new hero Mathilda has been available in the advanced server for a while now and players have been requesting a release date for ages. Their wish has now been granted, with everyone logging in on December 12 being able to own Mathilda for free.

Who is Mathilda in MLBB?

Mathilda is the first Assassin/Support hero to be released in MLBB. The character design resembles a Western Indian tribe girl. Her skills revolve around buffing her teammate’s movement speed while also dealing damage to her enemies. 

Mathilda Abilities

Passive: Ancestral Guidance

Mathilda gains Ancestral Guidance stacks while moving. When it is fully charged, she gains basic attack damage and increasing her movement speed for a short amount of time.

1st Skill: Power of Ancestors

Mathilda calls upon her ancestor’s guidance and summons wisps around her for 3 seconds. As she moves, more wisps will be summoned up to 4 wisps. The wisps then attack nearby enemies dealing magic damage.

2nd Skill: Wind Force

Mathilda leaps to a designated area and upon landing, she casts a field surrounding her. Allies within the field will temporarily gain a new skill “Wind Force”. When an ally uses Wind Force, they will blink to Mathilda and both of them will gain movement speed buff.

Ultimate Skill: Lightness

Mathilda applies a Soul Mark to the targeted hero, dealing magic damage and after 3 seconds, Mathilda can cast the skill again to fly around the target for up to 3 seconds. During this period, wisps are summoned and attack nearby enemies dealing magic damage. While flying, Mathilda gains Control Immunity and Damage Reduction Buffs. 

After casting the skill or reaching the time limit, she slams the ground, knocking enemies back dealing magic damage.

Mathilda offers a lot for her team. She can buff her allies’ mobility making ganks a lot easier and disengage if the situation gets sour. She also deals a lot of damage making her a decent assassin character. Perhaps this new hero would be a game-changer for the current meta of MLBB.
