Ranked Games are meant for the players who are really looking for more of a competitive edge. Like other competitive games, Battle Royales also have their own ranking system. Garena Free Fire players can access the Ranked matches at level 5 and earn RP or Ranked Points to rank up.

How The Ranked And RP Systems Works

Once players reach level 5, they can earn RP by playing matches and completing missions. Collecting these Ranked points will place you in one of the seven ranks. With 1,000 points, a player is placed in Bronze I, the lowest tier. Here are the seven ranks in the game as of right now:

  • Bronze (I, II and III)
  • Silver (I, II, and III)
  • Gold (I, II, III, and IV)
  • Platinum (I, II, III, and IV)
  • Diamond (I, II, III, and IV)
  • Heroic
  • Grand Master

The Gold, Platinum, and Diamond are all broken up into four sub-ranks. Players will have to climb through each of these to get to the top of the leaderboards. When playing Ranked, you will be matched with other players of the same skill and tier as you.

When you play Ranked, you will be placed in matches with other players of the same skill or tier. This is to keep the competition and skill level at an even ground. At the end of each match, players will receive RP based on survival time, kills, final standing and other stats. Collect enough RP to rank up. A year ago, Garena decided to rework their Rank and RP calculation.

“Our goal for the rank mode has always been to give players a fair and competitive environment to display their skills. Right now, the RP calculation system makes it really hard for high-ranked players to climb up the ladder. In this version, we are making the RP losses less punishing for high-ranked players so they can have a smoother path to the top. In addition, we realized that there is actually a noticeable skill gap between players within the Heroic rank itself, so we are adding a Grandmaster tier that only has 300 spots in each region to increase the competitiveness and activeness in higher ranks.” Top 300 players in each region will be placed in the “Grandmaster” tier daily.

Free Fire Ranked Seasons

Free Fire’s rank system is split into seasons, with each season usually lasting about two months. At the end of each season, your rank will determine what rank you start out as for the next one. Finishing in Bronze or Silver will mean you’ll be in Bronze I or II, ending in Gold or Platinum will put you in Silver I or II, and Diamond, Heroic, and Grandmaster will all start in Gold I and II.
