PUBG Mobile was banned in India on September 2 alongside 118 other Chinese apps. In the seven weeks since that monumental decision, there have been numerous developments that have been taking place behind the scenes at PUBG Corporation, possibly paving the path for PUBG Mobile’s long awaited return to the country.

It looks like there is finally light at the end of the tunnel, with PUBG Corp. dropping a massive hint via a job posting on LinkedIn indicating that the game could be returning to India shortly.

Earlier last month, following the ban on PUBG Mobile in India amidst rising military tensions between India and China, PUBG Corp. took over the publishing rights for the game from Tencent in the region. While this in itself, does not confirm that the game will be unbanned in India, it certainly shows that PUBG Corp is taking drastic steps to meet the Indian government's guidelines regarding data security and attempt to regain its access to the game’s massive Indian player base.

The Indian market represented one of the largest player bases and viewer bases for the popular title with one of the lowest average ages coupled with rapidly improving internet and mobile infrastructure. It certainly is a lucrative one that other FPS titles like COD Mobile and FreeFire are attempting to capture.

On September 21, it was reported that Reliance Jio was reportedly in talks with PUBG Corp. to bring the game back to India.

The responsibilities in the job posting also list M&A related duties. This could indicate that PUBG Corp. is looking for the Developmental Manager to help find an Indian partner to publish the game in the country.
