The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang event at SEA Games 2019 came to an end with the home team walking away with the gold medal. Indonesia might be considered the best country when it comes to MLBB, but the Filipinos played some incredible games to be crowned the deserving champions. The team from Indonesia finished in second place and will be awarded the silver while Malaysia take home the bronze.

The final day saw the Philippines take down Malaysia 2-0 in the lower bracket finals to set themselves up for a juicy best of five against Indonesia in the finals. The finals was incredibly close with both teams going blow for blow till the final stages. It truly felt like a David versus Goliath showdown, as Indonesia is considered to be the mecca for MLBB. With the score tied at 2-2, the team from Philippines pulled out a masterclass in their last game absolutely dominating from start to finish and forced out a 15 minute gg.

This makes the team from players from Philippines the first ever to win a gold at an esports discipline in an Olympic sanctioned event.
