Pros and Cons of Orianna in Wild Rift

Orianna has a lot to offer for her team. Her skills revolve around her mechanical ball which she can throw at will and unleashing attacks at a distance. She can easily poke melee champions with her mechanical ball, giving her a big advantage over mid-lane champions such as Akali, or Yasuo. She can also shield allies with her ball and even use it as a ward to check brushes for enemies. Her Ultimate can also gather enemies, and stun them for a short time, and allow your teammates to follow up an attack. There isn’t much disadvantage to using her other than requiring a lot of mana to sustain her and slightly weak damage compared to other burst mages.

What are Orianna’s Abilities?

Passive: Clockwork Windup

Orianna’s ball acts as a focal point for her abilities. The ball returns to her if she gets too far.

Attacks deal bonus magic damage. Subsequent attacks against the same target within 4 seconds deal an additional Magic Damage and can stack up to 2 times.

Combo your skills with some basic attacks to proc the passive damage.

1st Skill: Command - Attack

Commands a ball to fire towards a location, dealing magic damage to targets along the way. The damage decreases by 10% per unit hit. The ball stays at the target location afterward. 

Proper positioning of the ball is important. This allows you to attack in all directions and keep the enemies guessing on where you will attack again. 

2nd Skill: Command - Dissonance

The ball releases an eclectic pulse dealing magic damage to enemies. Enemies within the ball’s area are slowed while allies in the area receive a movement speed buff. 

Choose properly on whether you want to buff your allies’ movement speed or damage and slow the enemies.

3rd Skill: Command - Protect

Attaches to an allied champion and grants a shield. Enemies within its path before it attaches are damaged. 

Passive: The ball gives bonus armor and magic resistance.

You can use this to extend your ball’s range before casting your ultimate. Let your ally lead the ball to a good place and cast your ultimate to maximize its potential. 

Ultimate: Command - Shockwave

Unleashes a shockwave dealing magic damage and pulls nearby enemies at the ball. 

This works well with Yasuo as the ball can knock enemies airborne which can activate Yasuo’s ultimate skill.

Gain 20% bonus crit damage to enemies below 35% health. This is useful for Orianna, especially during team fights.

Awakened Soulstealer

This allows Orianna to stack up damage for each unique takedown. This also reduces ultimate skill cooldown allowing Orianna to spam his ultimate skills frequently.

Rabadon’s Deathcap

This late-game item adds a huge amount of magic damage to Orianna. However, building this too early is not advisable as this scales with your current magic damage. 

Void Staff

Add more magic penetration for Orianna, allowing you to ignore a portion of an enemy’s magic resistance.

Electrocute

You will be spamming a lot of skills which makes this rune very useful. Every third attack on an enemy champion, they get electrocuted and receive bonus damage. 

Champion

This is a bit of a risky rune to have but very powerful if you can survive the early game without dying. Gain 10% damage against champions but lose 5% each time you die until the bonus disappears. 

Regeneration

Survive your lane by bringing this rune with you. This allows Orianna to regenerate missing health or mana depending on which percentage is lower. 

Manaflow Band

Since Orianna suffers from requiring too much mana to fight back, this rune will stack mana for you as you poke enemies with your abilities.

Orianne can be played as Mid Lane or Support.

Ignite

Ignite reduces an enemy’s healing power while also burning their HP slowly. Use this when your dealing against enemies who have very strong regeneration power or enemies who are close to dying. 

Flash

This allows you to close the gap between escaping champions or escape from them when you’re in a bad position. Flash is the most important spell for every champion. Almost every game, you will need this spell.
