The Call of Duty franchise released its mobile edition worldwide on the 1st of October, 2019. CoD Mobile was developed by Tencent Games and published by Activision. The game offers several modes familiar to the franchise’s players like Frontline, Team Deathmatch, Domination, Search and Rescue and a newly introduced Battle Royale mode. Whether you just downloaded the game and are looking for help, or you’re a seasoned CoD player looking for tips specific to mobile. Here are some quick Call of Duty Mobile tips for beginners.

Adjust The Settings To Fit Your Style

  • As a touchscreen mobile game, learning how to aim and control your character properly is one of the most important skills needed in Call of Duty. In the same vein, choosing aim and shooting preferences that fit your playstyle will make a world of difference.

  • Customise Shooting ModeThe game’s initial tutorial will take you through a shooting range where you can learn the basics of movement and aiming mechanics.

  • Make sure to change the layout in settings and adjust the sensitivity to your liking. These can also be changed for multiplayer and battle royale separately. Along with these, adjust the game’s graphics settings to suit your device.

  • Customise Graphics settings for lower FPSIf you encounter low FPS then it is advisable to lower graphic settings.
  • Call of Duty: Mobile is compatible with Android devices with at least 2 GB of RAM and running Android 5.1 and above. For iOS users, devices with at least 2 GB RAM and running iOS 9.0 or later can play the game.

  • Finally, test your settings in an AI match to fine-tune the experience. In multiplayer, tap the Game Mode selection button (above start) to choose the game type. Here you'll see "Practice vs AI".

Play Often And Learn The Maps

  • It is important to familiarise yourself with the maps of Call of Duty: Mobile for optimal positioning. Many of the maps in the game are community favourites like Nuketown. Veteran players of the franchise will likely be familiar with them. If not, take the time to learn all the maps so you can attack strategically and get those kills and scorestreaks.

  • Players should also collect daily login perks and complete daily missions to earn rewards, XP cards, credits, Battle Pass XP and weapon camos.

Gunsmithing And Upgrading Weapons

  • Once you play a few games, you’ll start unlocking upgrades like Red, Green and Blue perks and weapon attachments including red-dot sights, silencers, extended magazines and other throwables like the Sticky Grenade and a Molotov Cocktail. All of these can be used to customise your weapon in Gunsmith.

  • Customise your weapon attachments and Camos
As you grind through the games, you’ll also earn Weapon XP cards which can be used to level up your guns and unlock more attachments. Remember to upgrade your weapons periodically so you can equip more advanced attachment customisation and craft the perfect gun.

  • The loadout screen helps players create profiles with different primary and secondary weapons equipped. Remember that you can change your loadout at the beginning of the match and between deaths. Thus, having multiple loadouts with a diverse variety of weaponry can help a player adapt to the given map or situation.

  • Eg A sniper loadout for long-range combat or an LMG loadout for medium-range combat
  • In the Battle Royale mode, players have an option of choosing their class. They can pick a Medic, Scout, Clown, Ninja, Defender, and more. Each class has its own special boost, sort of like different characters in Free Fire, where a medic places a medical station that heals you and allies and a Scout shoots a Sensor Dart that can see enemy positions on the radar.

  • Players can add their personal touch to their arsenal with Camos, Charms and Stickers. These are also available for customisation in Gunsmith. For BR, the loadout screen can be used to customise item, vehicle, wingsuit, parachute and class Camos. Here you can also customise airdrop weapons.
