Free Fire vs PUBG Mobile is a debate that has gone on for a while now with both games having enthusiastic fans who defend them. Each game has its own unique features despite being part of the same battle royale genre. We look at gameplay and related features, graphics, and system requirements to compare Free Fire vs PUBG Mobile to see which game is more to your taste. While Indian fans don’t really have an option at the moment due to the ban of PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite in the country, others can choose between the two games based on a number of things.

Free Fire vs PUBG Mobile: Gameplay

While there are some fantastical elements to PUBG Mobile added with its many events like Pharoah Rising and Runic Power, the game is more realistic than Free Fire.

In PUBG Mobile you have a basic character whose look you can enhance with cosmetics like skins and pets. On the other hand, Free Fire has characters with their own special abilities which increase their movement speed, provide shields, healing, and other buffs. This adds another layer of complexity along with the standard gunplay, which is present even in PUBG Mobile. Players will need to unlock the characters through various ways like collecting gold or spending real money through Free Fire diamonds.

The PUBG Mobile Battle Royale mode allows 100 players to take part at once, whereas Free Fire limits the number to 50 players. Due to the large number of players in the game, PUBG Mobile’s maps are larger and the matches are longer. PUBG Mobile has smaller maps and modes with fewer players to compensate. On the other hand, Free Fire does not have such variations.

Free Fire vs PUBG Mobile: Graphics and Requirements

PUBG Mobile has more a realistic feel to it compared to Free Fire. Free Fire has an anime and cartoon-inspired style, characters, and pets. While PUBG Mobile’s cosmetics are slowly shifting towards an anime fantasy style, its characters remain realistic. While the maps and locations are fairly similar in terms of realism, PUBG Mobile has better graphics overall when we compare Free Fire vs PUBG Mobile.

Comparing Free Fire vs PUBG Mobile, the RAM requirements for both the games is a minimum of 2GB, with 4GB being recommended. Comparing Free Fire vs PUBG Mobile we see, PUBG Mobile requires 610MB of memory space, which is lower than Free Fire’s 680MB of required space (this is excluding the many updates the games get), PUBG Mobile requires iOS 9.0 or above, and Android version will need 5.1.1 and above. This requirement is lower for Free Fire which needs Android 4.1 or above, or iOS 8.0 or above. This makes Free Fire more accessible to players with lower-end phones. Free Fire is also working on a project called Free Fire Max to improve the graphics, controls, and design of the game. Excluding the main data file and its various updates, simply playing PUBG Mobile will consume approximately 28.06 MB of data per hour while Free Fire consumes about 30.6 MB per hour of gameplay.
