  • NRG Esports unveiled a new $10 Million gaming house designed for content creators, streamers and pros.
  • The Castle features a dozen distinct areas with pop culture themes and costumes decorating the space.
  • SF Shock has reportedly played a few Overwatch League matches before the official inauguration.

NRG Esports is a star-studded organisation with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Shaquille O’Neal, Alex Rodrigues, Tiesto and Jimmy Rollins investing in the organisation. The organisation just revealed a new content space in Downtown LA called “The Castle” which will serve as a gaming house, a content creation hub and also a tournament venue. The Castle will have a grand opening today, and NRG Esports has already dropped an exclusive look at the venue on YouTube and their official website.

The Castle features a dozen distinct areas with pop culture themes and costumes decorating the space. The NRG Esports gaming room has a 40-foot television where streamers, pro gamers and content creators from games like Call of Duty, Fortnite and Overwatch will collaborate. The property is worth an estimated $10 Million.

The Project Was Visualized by Executive Producer Grady Raines

Grady Raines is the current executive producer at NRG Esports, and he wanted to create a gaming version of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory. According to the official blog, Rains intends to position the Castle as a “cultural touchstone” of the gaming world. He wants content creators from all parts of the gaming community to come and collaborate in the facility.

Gaming houses are commonplace in the gaming industry, but the new NRG Esports facility is exorbitant and unheard of. The Castle is designed to offer isolated spaces for content creators with separate rooms in the open floor. The San Francisco Shock team reportedly played Overwatch League matches in this facility before it was open officially.

NRG Esports’ Year in Review

NRG Esports has earned nine nominations including Org of the Year and Content Team of the Year for the upcoming Esports Awards. Their Overwatch team ‘San Francisco Shock’ won the Overwatch League for the second time in a row, cementing their place as the best team in the tournament. NRG’s Fortnite team of Clix, Unknown, Edgey and Ronaldo have also been very successful in 2020. The team also has rosters with top players in Apex Legends, Call of Duty, Rocket League and Valorant. The organisation was founded by Mark Mastrov and Andy Miller, who are co-owners of NBA’s Sacramento Kings.

Some of the other over-the-top gaming houses we have currently include Fnatic’s 5,000 square feet headquarters in London, Complexity’s 11,000 square feet Performance Center and the Oh My God Headquarters which is spread across 22,000 square feet. NRG Esports’ new venture puts The Castle at the top, and it’s only a matter of time until another esports organisation one-ups them.
