- Ucal rejoins his first team KT Rolster after leaving Team Griffin earlier this month.
Son "Ucal" Woo-Hyeon was back on the market after the player departed from Team Griffin earlier this month. He rejoined his first home KT Rolster, they announced today.
The mid laner started his career as a trainee with KT Rolster back in May 2017 and moved up to the starting roster in December where he played for almost a year. He later moved to Afreeca Freecs and then to Griffin in January 2020. Once considered one of the best upcoming teams in Korea, Griffin placed last on the leaderboard during the Spring Split with a 4-13 record following a scandal. The team was relegated from the LCK after losing back to back to Seorabeol and then to Sandbox Gaming. As a result, they weren't going to be playing in the LCK Summer Split.
Team Griffin officially terminated their contract with Ucal, Viper and Untara on the 17th of May and it was just a matter of time before a good team picked up the talented mid laner. KT Rolster finished in the top 4 this Spring Split but lost to DAMWON Gaming in the Playoffs. Ucal is known for his aggressive style and stellar mechanical skills. Despite being only 19 years old, he has held his own against some of the best mid laners in Korea.
