No[o]ne and SoNNeikO depart from AS Monaco Gambit days before the WePlay AniMajor

AS Monaco Gambit stated that despite the role switches and the eventual qualification for the WePlay AniMajor, both No[o]ne and SoNNeikO were keen on leaving the team. Because their contracts expired at the end of DPC season 2, they were able to leave the team without any hassle.

While No[o]ne had only started playing with the team in the middle of the first DPC season, SoNNeikO had been captaining the squad since November 2020. The team was then known as Live to Win before they were signed by Gambit Esports (now AS Monaco Gambit) in February 2021.

AS Monaco Gambit’s new roster will be seen in action at the WePlay AniMajor. Before the roster change, the team needed a top-two finish to guarantee a TI10 direct invite. With the exit of SoNNeikO and No[o]ne, things are only going to aggravate since AS Monaco Gambit will also receive a deduction in DPC points.

As Monaco Gambit’s Roster at the WePlay AniMajor will be:

  • Kiyalbek "dream" Tayirov
  • Artem "Lorenof" Melnick
  • Vasilii "AfterLife" Shishkin
  • Aleksandr "Immersion" Khmelevskoi
  • Stanislav "633" Glushan

SoNNeikO explains his departure from AS Monaco Gambit

SoNNeikO explained his decision on a Twitlonger post. He allegedly expressed his desire to leave the team after losing the first three series in the CIS 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division. However, the team decided to stay together until the end of the league, with No[o]ne taking charge of the drafts and shot-calling. Although the team qualified at the end and other “parties” were willing to continue with the team, SoNNeikO opted not to participate in the Major.

SoNNeikO concluded his statement by apologizing to his former teammates and the AS Monaco Gambit organization and wishing them success at the upcoming Major.

No[o]ne and SoNNeikO replace Iceberg and ALWAYSWANNAFLY at Na'Vi

Na'Vi is having a tumultuous DPC season not only in terms of performances but also in regard to roster changes. After the controversial replacement of GeneRaL with RAMZES666, the team has now parted ways with midlaner, Iceberg, and position five player, ALWAYSWANNAFLY, and replaced them with No[o]ne and SoNNeikO.

Na'Vi owed this roster change to the team’s recent sagging performances. The CIS team will now embark on a journey to TI10 via the CIS regional qualifiers. The organization will then “look into possible further collaboration with Akbar (SoNNeikO), likely depending on the results of these qualifiers."

Na'Vi’s new roster:
  • Alik “V-Tune” Vorobey
  • Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko
  • Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev
  • Vladimir “RodjER” Nikogosyan
  • Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev

While ALWAYSWANNAFLY has indicated towards a return to Dota 2 streaming, Iceberg has not revealed his future plans at the time of writing this article.
