Virtus.pro’s young guns have exhibited top-notch drafting and gameplay strategy throughout the two seasons of the 2021 DPC to earn a slot at TI10. After yet another dominating 2-0 victory in the CIS 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division over Winstrike Team, Virtus.pro asserted their position on top of the points table to pocket 500 DPC points. This took their total tally to 1200 points which surpasses the 1001 points threshold required for receiving a direct invite to a TI10. Virtus.pro, who now sits on top of the 2021 DPC rankings, is the second team to cross this limit after Evil Geniuses had recently accumulated a minimum of 1150 points. This will be the first TI appearance for all the five roster members of the squad.

Update: Shortly after we published this article, Invictus Gaming became the third team to book a spot at TI10.

Virtus.pro will represent CIS at TI10

Virtus.pro has been the most dominant team across all of the regional leagues in 2021 DPC. They have topped the CIS Upper Division two times in a row without dropping a single series, a feat which no other team in any of the six regions has been able to achieve. Moreover, the team has only dropped three games in the 14 series played in the two seasons, underlining their strength.

A first-place finish in the 2021 DPC Season 1 had netted Virtus.pro a total of 500 DPC points. The team certainly did not live up to its potential at the ONE Esports Singapore Major, managing only a 7th-8th place that earned them 200 points. In the second DPC season, Virtus.pro was invincible once again as they obtained a total of 500 DPC points with a first-place finish.

Though the team is now guaranteed a slot at TI10 and has nothing consequential to take from the upcoming WePlay AniMajor apart from the prize money, offlaner, Dmitry "DM" Dorokhin, believes that the team is keen on putting up a formidable showing at the second Major. A few weeks ago, he had mentioned that the team is initially focused on the Major and then will turn their attention to TI10.

  3. Dmitry "DM" Dorokhin
  4. Vitalie "Save-" Melnic
  5. Illias "Kingslayer" Ganeev

It is fascinating to see such a young group of Dota 2 players achieve success at such a high level, considering they had only officially teamed up in November 2020. Vitalie "Save-" Melnic is leading the team at the age of 19, a sight that is not very prevalent in the Dota 2 ecosystem.

TI10 is scheduled for August 5-15, 2021, in Stockholm, Sweden. Two teams have now mathematically guaranteed their spots which means that there are only 10 direct invite spots left. In addition to the direct invites, there will be one team each from all six regions that will secure a TI10 slot through the regional qualifiers.
