Recap

After having lost the grand finals of the Predator League 2020/21, OB.Neon sought redemption in their matchup against TNC Predator in the SEA 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division but were unable to win the series.

Game 1 was a clinical performance from OB.Neon as they completely outplayed their enemies, right from the laning phase. While Yopaj played on Dragon Knight and Natsumi- was on a safe lane Void Spirit, skem played on his classic Nature’s Prophet, this time on the offlane. A very aggressive playstyle from OB.Neon forced TNC to tap out of the game in 32 minutes.

Game 2 witnessed both teams engaging in constant small skirmishes. OB.Neon had an aggressive lineup yet again with an offlane Nature’s Prophet, safe lane Void Spirit and mid Templar Assassin. However, they were unable to hit their timings allowing TNC Predator to take control of the game. Armel and Gabbi delivered sumptuous core performances to help their team secure a victory in 28 minutes.

Game 3 saw OB.Neon sticking to the same push-heavy and early game-centered draft while TNC had the right draft synergy to fight at any stage. While OB.Neon found early kills, they had no answers to Armel’s Beastmaster and Gabbi’s Spectre in the middle and later stages. TNC, who had a very stable draft, won the third game in 42 minutes.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series

Interview: TNC Bok talks about the most broken heroes in the current patch

Armel showcased the potency of Beastmaster in the mid lane in the series. The hero is considered one of the strongest in the current patch courtesy of his Aghanim’s Scepter upgrade. Talking about Beastmaster and why they had not either picked or banned it in the first game, TNC’s offlaner, Jun "Bok" Kanehara, shared his opinion on the most broken heroes in the current patch.

“We left it open. We had a game plan for them picking Beastmaster. Definitely (on Beastmaster being broken). Valve needs to nerf it. Maybe put a two-second cooldown on (Aghanim’s Scepter Wild Axes). I think Puck is still very OP, especially for Pinoy players playing.”
