Motivate.Trust Gaming Beats Team SMG to Remain Undefeated in SEA DPC Lower Division

Team SMG have been handed a 2-0 loss by Motivate.Trust Gaming in the SEA 2021 DPC Season 2: Lower Division. Both the teams had entered the foray undefeated with two successful opening encounters. However, in this series, though Team SMG had managed to establish solid leads in both the games, they could not capitalize on them. Motivate.Trust Gaming took advantage of the mistakes committed by their enemies to close out the series 2-0. This revived Motivate.Trust Gaming squad had also defeated MidOne and kpii’s Team SMG in the first round of the SEA 2021 DPC Season 2 open qualifiers.

Team SMG vs Motivate.Trust Gaming: Match Recap and Highlights

Recap 

Two of the most stacked teams in the SEA 2021 DPC Season 2: Lower Division - Team SMG and Motivate.Trust Gaming clashed on April 24, 2021. 

Game 1 registered only four kills in the first 10 minutes as both teams were focused on farming on their cores. While the game was equally poised till the 30-minute mark, two major teamfight wins put Team SMG in the driver’s seat with a 12k networth lead. However, Team SMG went into the dumps as quickly as they had risen, losing two crucial teamfights. This allowed Motivate.Trust to finish the game in their favor in 38 minutes.

Game 2 saw the networth lead vacillating as it quickly shifted sides. Both teams were extensively trying to kill each other as we witnessed a total of 88 kills by the end of the game. Motivate.Trust Gaming played the latter teamfights to sheer perfection as they won the game in 52 minutes.

Team SMG will certainly be disappointed with the fact that they were unable to capitalize on their significant networth leads in either game.  However, some easier matchups await them in the regional league and they will look to get back to their winning ways. They will play their next series against 496 Gaming on April 29, 2021.
