OB.Neon vs Fnatic: Match Recap and Highlights

OB.Neon vs Fnatic was the first elimination series of the Singapore Major playoffs. While OB.Neon had moved to the lower bracket after placing seventh in the group stages, Fnatic lost 2-0 to Evil Geniuses in the upper bracket round 1.

Game 1 saw amazing performances by Yopaj’s Puck and Skem’s Nature’s Prophet. Though the game was initially equally poised, OB.Neon started to pull ahead in the game in the middle stages. Though Skem died back at the 44-minute mark, Yopaj cleaned up the side of Fnatic, stealing away a Divine Rapier from Moon’s Monkey King. This led to Fnatic’s demise as they lost an intense first game in 46 minutes.

Game 2 witnessed OB.Neon pick a mid Earth Spirit and an offlane Clockwerk, which did not work out as they got stomped by their enemies. All Fnatic’s heroes outfarmed their counterparts as they helped the team secure an easy second game win in 24 minutes.

Game 3 saw OB.Neon absolutely outplaying Fnatic as they allowed them only to register five kills in a 31-minute game. Moon and Masaros had a miserable game while Raven could only muster so much farm to delay the inevitable. A clinical game 3 performance saw the Filipinos win the series 2-1.

Fnatic, who were the top seed in the SEA 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division, had a lackluster show at the Singapore Major and will now go home after playing just two series. On the other hand, OB.Neon, who is playing with Skem in the safe lane as they had to replace Natsumi- with Rappy and then Rappy with Deth, have emerged stronger to beat the odds.
