  • Vice Esports have released their Dota 2 roster after a disappointing run at the 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division.
  • The team's owner has stated that they are looking for new players to compete in the Lower Division in the next season but their participation depends on finding the right group.
  • The team's carry, Palos had already joined Execration on February 28, 2021. The remaining players, Bob, Enryu, Samael and Zenki are now free agents.

Vice Esports has released their Dota 2 roster and is now looking for a new set of players and support staff to compete in the SEA 2021 DPC Season 2: Lower Division. In a comment to Manila Bulletin, the team’s owner, Weiss “Vice” Cuevas, stated that though they had dropped the roster, they intended on forming a new one. He also hoped that the now-former squad's players could carry on their momentum when they qualified for the 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division to their respective new teams. The team’s disbandment follows a tough time in the recently concluded SEA DPC League where the team finished in the eighth position.

Though the team owner has communicated that they are looking for a new team, their participation in the next season of the DPC is dependent on them finding the right group of people.

“We’ve stopped the team, but we’ll likely look to form another one in the future. It will depend on whether we can find the right management (group)–coach, analyst, general manager, etc. At the moment, we are still looking.”

Vice Esports was a relatively newer organization in the SEA region as they entered the Dota 2 competitive scene in July 2020. They could not get the desired results in several tournaments before they got their big breakthrough by qualifying for the SEA 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division.

However, they had a tough time in the tournament, finishing at the bottom of the points table. They were only able to win a single series out of a total of seven and hence, would be relegated to the Lower Division in the next DPC season. Although they took home a decent sum of $22,000, the organization released their Dota 2 team.

  • Mark Anthony "Bob" Urbina
  • Michael Roi "Enryu" Ladines
  • Joshua "Samael" Dela Serna
  • Ryniel Keit "Zenki" Calvez

These four players are now free agents and will be looking to find a new organization before season two of the DPC kickstarts on April 13, 2021.

For Vice Esports to have any chances of qualifying for TI10, they will have to put together a roster and compete in the Lower Division in DPC Season 2. Then, they can have a chance of reaching TI10 through the regional qualifiers.
