  • As per reports, SumaiL, RAMZES666, No[o]ne, Fata and Afoninje intended to team up for 2021 DPC season.
  • The stack, unfortunately, got late to apply for the closed qualifier of the EU or the CIS region.
  • Fata is currently playing in mudgolems in the EU Decider tournament. The other four can now either replace a player in a team that is a part of the ongoing season or wait till the next season that begins in April.

In a report by cybersports.ru via CYBERSLOVO, it was revealed that some of the best players in the Dota 2 competitive scene like Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan and Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev had planned to team up for the 2021 DPC season. However, SumaiL and the rest of his team were too late to register to get invited to the closed qualifiers.

RAMZES666 And SumaiL’s New Stack Planned To Compete At DPC 2021

The stack reportedly consisted of the following players. (in no particular order)

  • Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan
  • Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev
  • Vladimir "No[o]ne" Minenko
  • Andrey "Afoninje" Afonin
  • Adrian "Fata" Trinks

These five players had allegedly intended to team up for the first season of DPC 2021. They could then become candidates for a direct invite to the closed qualifier spot, either in the EU or the CIS region. However, the team reportedly did not have enough time to receive an invite to the qualifier.

Currently, none of these players except Fata are competing in the closed or the open qualifier. Fata who has been captaining mudgolems for the last four months is going to compete in the Decider tournament of the EU region for a spot in the Upper Division.

No[o]ne, SumaiL, RAMZES666, and Afoninje now have two options available to become a part of the 2021 DPC season.

  1. Wait for the first season to get over in April 2021 and then make their own team or join an existing one.
  2. Replace a player in any team that is currently playing in the first season of DPC 2021. However, this move for that particular team can be met with repercussions. According to Valve, “During the league, a team must play with at least 4 of its 5 registered players (this will cause no penalty). Any team that plays a major with a sub will incur a 40% penalty on points earned from that tournament.”

If this rumor holds any solid substance, we could have witnessed a star-studded roster compete for the DPC 2021 season. Unfortunately for the four players, they are now left teamless. Since two Regional Leagues and two Majors are the only pathways to The International 10 this DPC season, these players will potentially lose the opportunity to qualify for the International 10 via the DPC. No[o]ne had also mentioned this in a tweet a couple of days ago.

Now, it will be intriguing to see if these top quality players stay out of the competitive scene for the next four months or if a team decides to take them as replacements.

Considering the fact that the International 10 will not have Open Qualifiers, SumaiL and co. who might miss out on a berth at TI due to this misstep.
