Secret Reaches The Upper Bracket Playoffs At EPIC League
- Team Secret defeats Liquid, OG and Nigma in the tiebreakers to secure the fourth place in the group stages and the highly important upper bracket playoffs spot.
- Just Error surpasses both Alliance and mudgolems to win the other tiebreakers series to book a spot in the play-ins stage. Alliance and mudgolems move to lower bracket playoffs of Division 2.
- OG, Just Error, Liquid and Nigma now compete against the top four teams from Division 2 for four spots in the lower bracket playoffs of Division 1.
In what was a vigorous yet engrossing day of Dota 2 action at the EPIC League, Team Secret emerged out on top of a four-way tiebreaker series. Team Secret was able to beat Nigma, OG, and Liquid to secure the solitary upper bracket spot and became the fourth and final team to do so after Virtus.pro, Vikin.gg and Na’Vi.
On the other hand, Just Error secured the play-in spot in their tiebreakers with Alliance and mudgolems, sending both of them to the lower bracket playoffs of Division 2.

Secret Reaches Upper Brackets While OG, Nigma, Liquid And Just Error Move To Play-Ins
Probably the top four contenders to take the championship title in Division 1 of the EPIC League, Secret, OG, Nigma and Liquid were set for a miniature BO1 tournament in the form of tiebreakers. All these four teams were able to win five out of their nine series, which lead to these tiebreakers to determine a single team that would join Virtus.pro, Vikin.gg and Na’Vi in the upper bracket playoffs. The remainder of the three teams would be moving to the play-in stage.
Every single match in the tiebreakers proved to be heavily one-sided. Liquid dominated OG while Nigma got bested by Secret. Next, OG faced Nigma in a loser’s match where Miracle-’s impeccable Shadow Fiend performance helped them move to the next round, eliminating OG from these tiebreakers. Secret, in another convincing fashion, defeated Liquid in 23 minutes to secure a grand final spot while Liquid fell to compete against Nigma. Miracle- was again spectacular on Death Prophet, with the help of which Nigma moved to the grand finals to face Secret with an upper bracket spot on the line. Even though w33 played his signature Meepo and Secret had second picked Anti-Mage for MATUMBAMAN, Nigma could not match Secret’s level as they were just spot on with their drafting and performances on the day. Secret closed out the game in 31 minutes to occupy 4th place in the group stage table and the coveted upper bracket spot.
The winners of these matchups will be seeded into the lower bracket playoffs of Division 1, while the losers move to the upper bracket playoffs of Division 2.

Although the EPIC League has a bit of comical and complex group stage and playoffs format comprising of two divisions, the Dota 2 audience is undoubtedly happy with the insane amount of high-quality action that these top tier teams bring forward. The play-in stage is currently ongoing, while the playoffs begin tomorrow.
