CIS Caster Calls Playing MOBAs on Mobiles “Sheer Nonsense”

During the recent launch of the iPhone 12, Apple announced that League of Legends: Wild Rift was coming to the iPhone 12 and showcased many of the features that would the game an enjoyable experience on their devices. Following this, Russian commentator/analyst Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov posted on his Twitter profile stating that he thought that playing MOBAs on mobiles was “sheer nonsense”.


CIS Caster Maelstorm’s Comments on Mobile Esports

After watching the segment featuring Wild Rift, the CIS caster stated that he personally thought that playing MOBAs on a mobile device was nonsense, but he also acknowledged that it makes a significant amount of money.

“IMHO, playing MOBAs on a phone is sheer nonsense. But the money they make, of course, is significant.”

However, using PUBG Mobile as an example he also added that his opinions meant nothing when it came to the success of these mobile esports titles.

“So in my opinion playing PUBG on Mobile is nonsense, but the super successful PUBG Mobile does not ask for my opinion.”

Other CIS Casters Explain Why These Titles Are Successful

CIS Caster V1lat responded to these comments suggesting that Asia is a big reason for the success of these mobile esports titles.

“Not everyone has a computer. Especially in Asia.”

CIS Caster Godhunt also explained some of the merits of titles like Mobile Legends. He stated that mobile MOBAs like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was just convenient for the average person who is often just sitting while waiting for something, or going somewhere when not driving, etc. He stated that mobile games are primarily made for them.

Recently, TNC support player Tims ran into a spot of controversy when he made a few comments about the mobile esports game, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) on his live stream. He had made a number of controversial remarks against mobile gamers and stated that he wouldn’t call them gamers.

Following his comments, many prominent members in the Filipino gaming community including streamers and influencers expressed their displeasure with TIMS' comments and stated that they believe that all players are all gamers, regardless of what platform they use to play the games.
