Team Liquid has announced the addition of Mathis "Jabbz" Friesel to their support staff. Jabbz has been recruited as a coach/analyst for the squad, the organisation revealed through their Twitter handle.

Will Jabbz help Liquid regain its former glory?

Though Jabbz has been added to the team, it is assumed that William "Blitz" Lee will continue to be the lead coach of the squad. Jabbz will primarily be serving as an analyst, helping the coach and team in devising strategies and figuring out mistakes. This is the first appointment of the German player as an analyst and he will look to give his best for the team. It looks like Jabbz has been around coach Blitz for quite some time now as a tweet from Jabbz in July shows him playing Counter-Strike:Global Offensive with Blitz and Arteezy.

Jabbz has not really played for any Tier 1 team in the past. His last stint as a player was with Kingdra where he played alongside Charlie, canceL^^ and SexyBamboe. He began his career as a mid player but he mostly played in the support position during the later part of his career. He has not been playing a lot of professional Dota 2 recently and it looks like he has switched to a mentor role with this announcement.

Team Liquid has performed decently in the European region since the inception of online leagues but there has not managed a single tournament win. Jabbz will look forward to synchronize with Blitz and assist the team so that they can achieve the desired results.

Team Liquid had been one of the most dominating squads from 2016-2019 with a first-place finish at The International 2017. That roster included the current members of Team Nigma.
