TI10 Is Now The Biggest Prize Pool in Esports History

The prize pool for The International 10 (TI10), has crossed the $34.33 Million USD mark, which will officially make it the largest prize pool at a single esports event ever. 

TI10 Prize Pool Breaks TI9’s Record Prize Pool

Previously, the record for the biggest prize pool in any esports game was previously held by The International 2019 (TI9), which boasted a staggering prize pool of $34,330,068 USD, and continues Dota 2’s run of breaking the record every year.

At the time of writing the current prize pool for The International 10 is $34,332,651, but with the Battle Pass continuing to sell Battle Levels until its expiry on 19 September 2020, you can continue to expect it to grow significantly. Especially, considering the fact that Valve is yet to release the Windranger Arcana as the Immortal Treasure 3.

For The International 2019, the champions OG took home 44% of the total prize pool, so if the prize pool was frozen today the winners would be walking away with more than $15 million to split between the five players, which would make them all multimillionaires. 

Top 10 Biggest Esports Tournaments

In fact, Dota 2 now holds the record for four of the top five biggest esports events.

Technically the $30 million prize pool of the Fortnite World Cup was split across two tournaments, one for duos and one for solos. However, the combined prize pool for the event has been included in this list.

Valve has stated that it will reward 10,000 Battle Pass Points (or 10 Battle Pass Levels) if TI10's prize pool crosses TI9 prize pool. Valve has also stated that it will reward 10,000 more Battle Pass Points if it crosses $40,000,000. However, the latter looks unlikely.

The TI10 Dota 2 Battle Pass, was released on 25th May and has been touted as one of the best ones yet. It consists of numerous features and cosmetic items including Arcanas, Hero Personas, Immortal Treasures, etc. 

25% of the funds collected from the purchase of Battle Pass or levels will go towards TI10's prize pool. On 27th July this crossed the $30 Million Mark making it the second biggest esports tournament in history.
