Na’Vi Fines Mid Laner After He Insults Muslims in Pub Game

Earlier this week, Na’Vi’s new mid laner, Nikita "young G" Bochko made some unsavory remarks against Muslims in one of his pub games.

Na’Vi and young G’s Response

After this incident drew public attention, Na’Vi announced that they condemned young G for his language and his behavior in his pub games and that they would fine him and extend his probation period as a result.

“Since its foundation, Natus Vincere established a philosophy that runs counter to any hatred, hostility, and aggression. Regardless of the situation, discrimination and intolerant behavior are unacceptable, so we are also outraged with the act of Nikita "young G" Bochko.

The player has been fined and his probation period is now extended. In the event of occurrence of such precedents, the player's contract will be terminated.

We give our sincerest apologies to those who were hurt by Nikita’s words. As a club, we will do all it takes to ensure that such situations never occur in the future.”

young G also apologized to the club, the fans and everyone else who was hurt by this incident.

Translation:

"I want to apologize for what I did. I'm sorry if I've offended someone with it. It was an extremely stupid joke, for which I am ashamed of now.

This whole situation will be a severe lesson for me, and I promise that this will never happen again."

Earlier in 2019, after OG player Sébastien "Ceb" Debs insulted Russians with a xenophobic outburst in one of his Dota 2 pubs, Virtus.Pro Captain Alexei “Solo” Berezin threatened that he won’t participate in the upcoming EPICENTER Major if Valve didn’t take a stand on the matter. 

Following this, it was announced that Valve, Ceb and Solo are all working together to find long-term solutions to the toxicity in pub games. However, Valve has not taken any public measures to prevent such toxic behavior in pub games.

Considering the fact that such toxic incidents are still occurring regularly in pub games, it really is surprising to see Valve turn a blind eye to all such matters.
