Details of Bot TI3

Beyond The Summit has just announced Bot TI3 - The Dota 2 tournament were bots fight each other. The tournament will be held in September 2020. The exact dates and more details about the tournament is expected to be announced at a later time.

The numbers Mason, what do they mean?

Well, these are binary numbers and when translated, they spell out: “Announcing Bot TI3 in September.”

In this new teaser, Beyond The Summit revealed some of the stuff that they've changed for Bot TI3 which includes Level 30 Caps, Live matches of Bots facing each other (to prevent matchfixing :P), all new items and bonus show matches.

What Exactly is Bot TI?

For those unaware, this tournament is held between all 117 Dota heroes where they compete against each other in a 5v5 tournament where each team is made up of five copies of the same hero. The brackets are usually seeded based on win rates in pubs.

Last year, these matches only last up to a maximum of 30 seconds. There will be three rounds in each match.

  • Round 1:
    • Bots at Level 5.
    • 6 Ironwood Branches in Item Inventory.
  • Round 2:
    • Bots at Level 15.
    • 10,000 Gold Worth of Items
  • Round 3:
    • Bots at Level 25 (however, BTS has stated that this will be changed to Level 30)
    • 20,000 Gold Worth of Items

Last year, Beyond The Summit also banned some Dota 2 items, like Blademail and Black King Bar. We are interested to see if BTS will find a way to integrate Neutral Items in this year’s tournament, especially considering their 'All New Items' hint.

There is also usually a fantasy league (hosted by Beyond The Summit themselves) running alongside this tournament.

Last year, in Bot TI2, Pangolier managed to pull off a massive upset over Earthshaker in the finals to win the tournament. Before that, in Bot TI1, Elder Titan managed to win the tournament by beating Abaddon in the Grand Finals.
