T1 And Korean Dota 2 Player Forev Part Ways

T1 has finally parted ways with Korean Dota 2 player Lee “Forev” Sang-don, after 11 months of mediocre results with the team, the organization announced earlier today. The player was always one of the integral parts of the T1 Dota 2 team and has been with the team since the inception of T1’s Dota 2 team.

T1 And Forev Part Ways

T1 announced that Forev was leaving the team on their social media handles.

In the 11 months that Forev spent with the team, T1 only managed to win two tournaments:  the Hephaestus Cup and the SEA Dota Invitational 2020. The team had always looked like they were a tier below the top teams in the SEA region and never really looked liked they could challenge teams like Fnatic, TNC Predator or Geek Fam.

The closest they came to challenging the established order was at T1’s final outing with Forev at the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League. Although they only secured a fourth-place finish at this tournament, they were the ones who came the closest to defeating the eventual champions Geek Fam in the playoffs.

Forev and T1 won $23,519 USD in prize winnings at the time of his departure. Commenting on his departure, Forev stated that he would always root for T1.

T1’s current lineup after Forev’s departure is:

• Tri "Jhocam" Kuncoro
• Wilson "Poloson" Koh Chin Wei

It will be interesting to see who T1 picks up to replace Forev in their lineup. Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon, who just departed from Fnatic lineup and Andrew "Drew" Halim, who departed from Reality Rift are some of the hottest free-agents available in the SEA region at the moment. Unfortunately, neither of them plays in the offlane role so a few role changes are necessary for either of them to join the T1 organization.
