- Apple released its new 13-inch MacBook Pro with 'Dota 2' being used to feature its Gaming Capabilities.
You know how we all give Valve schtick for not promoting Dota 2? Yeah, nothing about that changed.
However, another American tech giant has chosen to
promote Dota 2 (okay promote is a stretch), feature Dota 2 as part of its new 13-inch MacBook promotions. They have chosen to highlight Dota 2 as a screenshot in its press release.
In the store, Dota 2 is featured as one of the ‘graphics-intensive’ games that can be played with 'responsive performance' and 'vivid detail' in the new 13-inch MacBook Pro with its new updates to the hardware.
Using a 10-year-old game (5 years since the shift to Source 2 with Dota 2 Reborn) to justify your new graphics capabilities might be questionable, but as Linus Tech Tips demonstrated earlier this week (exactly at the 3:22 mark BTW), Dota 2 can be a little bit demanding compared to games like League of Legends. So perhaps this really is a milestone in gaming for MacBooks and Apple.
