BOOM Esports are currently competing in the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3. Their support Randy Muhammad "Dreamocel" Sapoetra talked to VPEsports about the Indonesian Dota 2 scene, the new Dota Pro Circuit, and BOOM Esports.

When talking about the new regional leagues, Dreamocel explained why the Indonesian Dota 2 scene is in a bad state at the moment and why the new DPC system will boost it.

“The Regional Leagues system is surely beneficial for teams like ours. I think if nothing changed with the next DPC, the Southeast Asia region would not have had any chance to grow, to develop anymore. For instance, the Indonesian Dota 2 scene is declining because most of the organizations don’t want to spend money, to invest in something that doesn’t have a clear future. The effort to grow a Dota 2 team, to start from scratch with a  group of five young players is simply not worth it at this moment.

If you are not a tier one team you are not going to make any money and you can’t sustain yourself, you can’t dedicate yourself as a player 100 % to the game because you have to find a job, a way to survive. So, yeah, I’m really excited to see how everything will change in the next season. “

This is certainly a unique take on this from a professional who will be directly affected by the implementation of the new DPC system which explains how the DPC will impact the pro players in underrepresented areas like Indonesia and South America.
